IFS English Teacher Receives National Recognition
07/16/2008: Kate Balogh, Islamic Foundation School High School English Teacher, has been selected from a national pool of teachers to attend one of 27 summer study opportunities supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The Endowment is a federal agency that each summer supports seminars and institutes at colleges and universities so that teachers can study with experts in humanities disciplines.
Mrs. Balogh will participate in a “Teaching Shakespeare Institute.” The program will be held at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC, and will be directed by Robert Young, Director of Education at the Folger. Mrs. Balogh was one of the 25 teachers selected to participate in the program and receive a stipend to cover travel, study, and living expenses.

IFS Senior Receives National Achievement Scholarship Program Distinction
10/02/2007: Congratulations to Fatima Ibrahim (senior)for earning the distinction of being an "Outstanding Participant" in the National Achievement Scholarship Program. This honor was given to Fatima for her high PSAT scores last October. Out of 140,000 students who participated in the scholarship program only the top 5% were selected.
